||MINISTER FOR CHIEFTAINCY AND RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS MEETS THE LA TRADITIONAL COUNCIL||

The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng has informed the La Traditional Council that his sector Ministry is working on the adoption of the “Alternative Dispute Resolution” mechanism in finding lasting solutions to Chieftaincy issues rather than the judicial system.

He also added that qualifications regarding the line of succession should be done quickly to prevent the numerous Chieftaincy issues.

The Minster said these when he paid a courtesy call on the La Traditional Council on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 to hold deliberations with them on issues of concern to the Chieftaincy Institutions.

Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng assured the Council of his support in making sure there is peace and sanity with Chieftaincy in the country.

He called on traditional authorities to embrace the fact that our tradition cannot be thrown away which is why the 1992 Constitution guaranteed and preserved the institutions of Chieftaincy under “The Chieftaincy Act, 2008 (ACT 759).
