||Minister swears in new Advisory Board members||

The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has inaugurated a Ten (10) Member Ministerial Advisory Board for the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (MCRA) in May, 2023.

The Board, which was inaugurated in accordance with Section 39 and 40 of the Civil Service Act, 1993, (Act 327), has a primary responsibility to promote consistent interaction between the Ministry and its varied stakeholders. It has a further mandate to advise and assist the Ministry in the implementation of its policy objectives, strategies, and programmes.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister expressed his gratitude to the members for accepting to put their varied and useful experiences at the disposal of the Ministry, particularly at this critical moment when Ghana’s Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs is being re-positioned to become a major contributor to the nation’s socio-economic development.

Hon. Asamoah Boateng, who was particularly pleased with the professional background and rich experiences of the individual Board Members, noted with appreciation, the fact that they (Members) constitute the right and appropriate caliber of people at this critical moment, as they constitute a formidable Board, whose contributions would be useful to the Ministry.

He enumerated to the Board Members the mandates of the Ministry, which he said include the formulation of policy initiatives for the sustainable management and development of the Chieftaincy and Religious sector. The others coordination, monitoring, and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of the sector.

Members of the Advisory Board, include the Minister, Mrs. Halima S. Yakubu – Chief Director of the Ministry.  Others are, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, Naa Prof. J.S Nabila, Hon. S.K. Boafo, Justice Bright Mensah, Mrs. Sheila Minkah- Premo, Nana Kwabena Nketsi and Nana Dr. S.K.B. Asante.

Justice S.A. Brobbey (Rtd. Supreme Court Judge), speaking on behalf of his colleague Board Members, thanked the Hon. Minister in particular and the government in general for the opportunity to serve on the Board of the Ministry. He, therefore, pledged their full commitment and collective support to the Ministry in its efforts at achieving its objectives within the mandates given them as Ministerial Advisory Board Members.
