||Hon. Minister addressing Staff of the Ministry||

The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (MCRA), Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng has charged Staff of the Ministry to move from the old style of doing things and be creative to achieve better results.

According to him, Staff should not expect to achieve great results if they keep doing the same old things they learnt years back, adding that innovation has proven to produce good results hence the need for them to adopt it in this current dispensation.

The Minister made these comments when he met with Registrars and Regional Staff of the Regional House of Chiefs and Traditional Councils on Thursday, 13th April 2023 in Accra to discuss pertinent issues bordering the sector. The meeting was also to afford the Minister the opportunity to get to know his staff and understand the issues at first hand.

Hon. Asamoah Boateng noted that he was very keen on time management because time is of essence in delivering targets and obtaining success. ‘A person who is timely will accomplish a lot of success within the shortest time’.

He urged staff to cultivate the habit of teamwork as it maximizes results, adding that they are the Ministry’s representatives at their various stations, so they need to employ a lot of intelligence by finding the root cause of some issues at their various traditional councils. The Hon. Minister further says this will inform the Ministry on how best to tackle issues amicably at various levels.

The Ministry appealed to Staff not to get involved in the enstooling and destooling of chiefs rather they should focus their mandate as stated in the Chieftaincy Act. Act 759 He further appealed to them to thoroughly investigate to ensure a Chief has gone through the right process before they gazette them to reduce the issue of gazetting two people for one stool.
