Minister meets Eck leadership

The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng has urged the Leadership of ECK (Eckankar) to imbibe their values in the younger generation as an integral part of character building at the stage of the formative years so they do not drift from that path.

Speaking at the 2023 ECK African Soul Adventure Seminar on Friday, 25th August 2023 in Accra, the Minister advised religious organizations to adopt globally accepted offsite channels of training to reach out to their members, stressing that most organizations are inculcating online fellowship in their activities to reach out to members and the general public.

He further advised the leadership of Eckankar to institute mentorship programmes in the fellowship as an easy guide for nurturing – ‘catch them young…’. In drawing comparison to spiritual leaders, Hon. Asamoah Boateng indicated that every politician is a shepherd looking after God’s people. Hence, spiritual leaders need to also guide the politicians as they guide God’s people.

The Minister further observed that there was a nationwide trend towards spiritual poverty as many people are becoming spiritually poor in the pursuit of worldly things, only thinking about physical growth and ignoring spiritual growth and the purpose for which they were placed on this earth. The Hon. Minister was of the view that every being needs to find a way to be upright. He wished the congregants a successful seminar and prayed for them to be refreshed at the end of the seminar.

The President of Eckankar Ghana, Aspect Caiquo expressed excitement for Ghana as the host of the seminar and warmly welcomed all our African neighbours to Ghana. He reiterated this year’s theme: ‘Your Life is a Spiritual Adventure’, stressing their belief in honesty and that everything on earth has a cause and effect.

He explained that there were a lot of teachings outlined for the seminar and the children have been categorized into four to ensure easy understanding of the selected topics.

On behalf of the leadership, he thanked the Hon. Minister and his Management Staff for their support to see this Seminar materialize.
