||Let’s Imbibe Tradition and Customs in the Youth – Hon. Asamoah Boateng||
The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng has urged Traditional Leaders to continue to inculcate their customs and traditional values in the youth so they can uphold their heritage.
According to him, young people were rather getting accustomed to social media and forgetting about their culture which will go along way to affect the rich heritage hence it is very important to train them well so that tradition will continue to grow and be transferred from generation to generation.
The Minister made these comments when a delegation from the Atebubu Traditional Council led by the Paramount Chief paid a courtesy call on the Minister on Wednesday, 24th January, 2024 at the Ministry in Accra.
He noted that the Ministry was in the process of establishing a Chieftaincy Fund which will support the chiefs and the management and development of their areas to reduce the reliance on government as the allowances given to Chiefs could not solve some of these issues.
On his part, the Paramount Chief of Atebubu Traditional Council, Nana Yeboah Asiamah who led the delegation indicated that their visit was to officially introduce himself as the newly instituted Paramount Chief of the Atebubu Traditional Council.
He was appreciative of government’s support during the final funeral rites of his predecessor and thanked the Minister for the steps his office was taking to ensure that authority of Traditional Rulers are bestowed back unto them.
