||The Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs presents items to the Chief Imam||

The Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs on Wednesday, 19th April 2023 donated some items to the National Chief Imam, Shiekh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu and the Muslim community towards the Ramadan and celebration of the Eid-Ul Fitr.

The objective of the donation was to show appreciation to the National Chief Iman for his continuous prayers and support to the Ministry.  The Delegation was led by the Sector Minister, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, the Ag. Chief Director, Directors of the Ministry and Some Staff.

In His submission, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng noted that the Ministry will sit down with the Leadership of the Muslim fraternity to develop interventions aimed at supporting Muslims rather than making an annual donation to them.

He admitted that there were a lot of people who needed support, but the government cannot support them if they do not know what they need specifically hence he would want to sit down with them to know their needs so that government can meet those needs.

He thanked the Chief Imam for his prayers and appealed to him to add his voice to the mediation talks that government has started with the Bawku Traditional Area so that calmness will be restored.

Dr. Nuhu Sharubutu thanked the Minister for the items donated and indicated that the concerns raised by Hon. Asamoah Boateng was a step in the right direction. He mentioned that he will let his team have a discussion with the Ministry to come up with interventions for the needy in the Muslim community.

The Ministry presented Hundred (100) bags of Rice and 100 Boxes of Vegetable oil with some cash which is to be shared to the sixteen regions in the country.
