Thirty-One Research Officers (31) of the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs have received a two-day training to equip them with the necessary research skills to collect and analyze data for effective decision-making.
The training workshop was organised and led by the Research, Statistics and Information Management Directorate of the Minsitry from Thursday, 15th to Friday 16th June,2023 at Ho in the Volta Region.
The Director in charge of Research, Statistics, and Information Management (RSIM), Mr. Richard Fedieley of the Ministry explained that most of these Research Officers are newly recruited and as such data churned out by some of them are not consistent with the laid down procedures of data collection and statistical returns which makes analysis and processing of the data difficult to understand hence, the need for the training of these Officers.
He reiterated that the training would bring officers up to speed in the discharge of their duties in their respective regions to aid in the Ministry’s flagship programme of codification.
The officers were taken through data collection, Research Methods, data collation and analysis and the use of data analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel, and SPSS to analyze data.
