His Royal Majesty, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II has commended the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng for his hardworking spirit and being one of the people who have served him for years since his ascension to the throne as Asantehene.

Otumfuor made this commendation at his 74th special birthday dinner party on Monday evening, May 6, 2024. The colourful ceremony took place at the new silver jubilee hall located at the Manhyia palace in the heart of Kumasi, the Asanti Regional Capital.

It was a night of glitz, power and style as most male attendees turned up in suites, including the Asantehene and his guest of honour, the Ga Mantse.

Otumfuor Osei Tutu II was born on May 6, 1950.  He ascended to the Golden Stool, becoming the 16th Asantehene on April 26, 1999.  He has, so far spent 25 years on the throne.

The 74th birthday of Otumfuor coincides with the year -long commensuration of the 25th anniversary of his ascension to the Golden Stool.
