Mrs. Halima Saadia Yakubu is the Chief Director for the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs. She was posted to the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs on 11th April 2023. She is an experienced Civil Servant who has worked in several Sectors for many years.
She has gained several working experience and built several networks having worked at the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council, the Northern Regional Coordinating Council, the Brong Ahafo Coordinating Council, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Transport and the Office of the Senior Minister and the Office of the Presidential Advisor and the Public Sector Reform for Results Secretariat.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Social Sciences, master’s degree from Leicester University in the United Kingdom in Human Resource Management and Training.
She is privileged to have pursued many training programs in different areas and has associated and interacted with various distinguished citizens of many backgrounds.
The Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs
(MCRA) is established by Executive Instrument 2017.
The Ministry forms part of the Civil Service of Ghana
established by PNDCL 327, 1993 with specific functions
and roles as provided by law. The Ministry’s objective
in line with legal provisions, its mission and vision
is to have oversight responsibility for the Chieftaincy
and Religious sector for peaceful co-existence,
integration, tolerance and national development.
