||Tanyigbe Traditional Council ||
The Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs on Tuesday 17th December 2024 inaugurated the seventy-fifth Traditional Council Office in the Volta Region as part of efforts to ensure that every Paramountcy has a Traditional Council as stated by the Chieftaincy Act 2008( 759)
The Council, Tanyigbe Traditional Council like the other councils will serve as an interface between the government and the chiefs and people of Tanyigbe. It is mandated to handle the administrative aspect of Chieftaincy in Ghana.
The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Representative, Mr Baafi Nsiah made this known in a statement he read on Behalf of Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng. He urged the citizenry to eschew individualism and focus on peace, unity and development as this was essential to the grown of Tanyigbe Traditional Area.
For his part, The Volta Regional Registrar, Mr Harry Attipoe reiterated the need for all Chiefs and elders to move away from the continuous court litigation as it drains their finances and rally to support the education of their younger generation to become prominent people in their community. He said the exercise of Inaugurating Traditional Councils was backed by the articles 12 and 14 section (1) of the Chieftaincy Act 2008 ( Act 759).
In a welcome address by Dr Mama Abra Hokor on behalf of Mamaga Cate Klu-Adiko II. They affirmed their commitment to uphold the values of their forebearers. She emphasized on the role Traditional leaders play in peace , unity and development, and called on the Chiefs an people of Tanyigbe Traditional Area to ensure this continues.
