||Veep Praises A.M.E. Zion Church||

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has commended the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E) Zion Church for their invaluable contribution towards the growth of Ghana’s economy.

He said, as a church, they have not only focused on winning souls for Christ rather they have also contributed to the social and economic needs of the people through the construction of an ultramodern hospital and educational facilities at both basic and tertiary levels.

Speaking at the church’s Biennial joint conference of the East, West and Mid Ghana in Accra on Wednesday, 19th June 2024, on the theme; ‘The Freedom Church: Securing our Future’ Dr. Bawumia said the theme awakens hope in every individual to preserve the future by taking guided steps.

Touching on their needs as a church, he pledged to donate a state-of-the-art ambulance to the church to support the hospital discharge it mandate effectively.

The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng called on the church and all Ghanaians to pray for the Vice President and for the country as the country prepares for the general elections. He said peace and good health was paramount, so at all point Ghanaians should not desist from prayers during this time.

For his part, the Chairman for the Christian Council of Ghana, and the Presiding Bishop for the A.M.E Zion church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard Dela Dogbe charged politicians to be weary of the language they use during the campaigns, emphasizing on the need to maintain decorum while focusing on the peace of the country.

He said, A.M.E Zion’s focus in 2024 was to increase in membership and they were working tirelessly to achieve that and thanked the government for always honouring their invitation.
